LOCHSA ENGINEERING OF IDAHO OFFICE BUILDING*

201 N MAPLE GROVE ROAD
BOISE, IDAHO

The Las Vegas based Lochsa Engineering, a structural + civil engineering consultant expanded their base into the State of Idaho in the early 2000’s.

PROBLEM:

During this time, both office locations experienced extreme growth.

SOLUTION:

The Firm’s ownership made the decision to development two office buildings in Boise.  Their company would occupy the initial building and include additional Tenant spaces to allow for the ability of the company to expand into other parts of the building as growth requires.  Tenant spaces would also become available during times of downsizing.  The second building will be designed at a later date.

The 18,000 SF office building is built in an industrial zone that required the material palette to be complimentary to the adjacent architectural vocabulary. The design team profile metal panel system and concrete sheet board siding installed as a rain screen with some exposed structural steel sections.  The interior design emphasized exposed systems – all, to be used for educational purposes to young jr engineers and prospective clients.

The office opened in 2006 at a cost of $2.1 million and was recognized by the City of Boise Planning and Development Services in 2008 receiving the Mayor’s Excellence in Design Award.
